I started this painting because it seems like butterflies and fish should be good friends, but unfortunately they never will be because fish can't fly and butterflies can't swim. It made me so sad! I am also very inspired by William Blake's composition Leviathan and Behemoth from the biblical story. This was my imagining of the woman versions of two giant monsters.
